Personal Recapping
It always seems to go that when I want to write, I never have anything to write about. Well, I think I’m getting old, because I wanted to get socks and white t-shirts for Christmas and I was excited when I got them. Most of my gifts this year were practical or something that I needed. While school is out, I’ve been working about 9 hours (including an hour lunch) each weekday. I’ve actually quite liked it. I really enjoy doing internal tech support, it’s quite challenging. I am always learning something new.
I’m pretty used to living on my own now. Going home for 4 days over Christmas was odd. It didn’t feel exactly right. One thing I’m not adjusted to yet is cooking everything for myself. Most of the stuff I make is made for more than one person. Also, coming up with the time to actually cook the food and clean the dishes afterward can be a hassle since I work late. I’m trying to expand my menu of meals, but going to the grocery store enough to keep the 4th of the refrigerator stocked isn’t all that much fun. It’d be better if I could buy food in bulk, but I just don’t have the space for it. It’ll be just another year or so and I’ll be able to move out on my own (when I’m working full time).

Outlet for Creativity
For the past couple of days I have had the need to be creative. However, I can not find a suitable form or medium. I can’t read or write music, I don’t have a video camera, I don’t have the paints or room for painting (but that might be fun), I have weak Photoshop skills when it comes to drawing from scratch, my digital camera isn’t very good, so out goes photography, though I really like it. I have never had the great ability to visualize a new painting or create a beautiful work of art in my mind then put it down on paper or in whatever medium. I’m not too terribly good at writing, and I don’t like long form writing. As you can see above, my skills with grammar and vocabulary are not to be desired. I just don’t know what I want to do. With this semester winding up, I will have a little more time for myself and I would like to start a new hobby other than TV, movies, and podcasts. I enjoy web design, but is that an artform? I would say so. It involves a multitude of skills. Coding, graphic design, writing, and more. I’m going to have to find a project I can work on with this, because I really enjoy it. I think I’m going to get myself a small painting kit, too! Maybe this will satisfy my inner craving to create.
